RENTON – Late Thursday night a construction worker was injured on southbound I-405 near SR 167 while installing electrical conduit in the median. The cause of the accident is currently being investigated.
Washington State Patrol closed all lanes of southbound I-405 at SR 167 while Fire and Aid assessed the construction worker’s condition and transported him to the hospital. Washington State Patrol opened one lane of southbound I-405 at 11:45 p.m. and two lanes were open by 12:45 a.m. All lanes will be open for the Friday morning commute.
The work is part of the I-405/I-5 to SR 169 Stage 1 Widening project. The project adds a lane in each direction on I-405 between I-5 and SR 167 and a lane on southbound SR 167 between I-405 and SW 41st Street. For more information visit: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/i405/I5toSR169/
