About This Byway
This byway crosses the ancestral home of the Makah Indians, having lived here for thousands of years. Sustained by hunting whales and seals, and fishing the waters that cradle their home, the Makah developed an enduring, distinctive culture. Ending at Cape Flattery, travelers can enjoy views of the rugged coastline, Tatoosh Island, Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary, and abundant wildlife.
