Service Description: This map service is meant to be viewed in this application. Please see the application for best results. A point dataset of historical test borings drilled by the WSDOT Geotechnical Office and consultants to WSDOT. This dataset has links to boring log pdfs. The borings in this dataset were drilled before the use of gINT database software. The locations of the borings in this dataset are approximate and are not implied as having any specific spatial accuracy. They were located using one of the following processes: georeferenced historical plan sheets, alignment with stationing and offset, address description or coordinates. This data should only be used as reference. The dataset is not a complete set of historical borings. Borings are continually being added project by project as needed. For questions concerning the data in this map, please contact: Tracy Trople, GIS Analyst TropleT@wsdot.wa.gov Attribute Definitions: PointID - Identifier assigned to the boring when drilled Northing - Northing location of the boring in NAD 1983 HARN StatePlane Washington South (US Feet) . Generated by the GIS after spatially locating the borings in the map. Easting - Easting location of the boring in NAD 1983 HARN StatePlane Washington South (US Feet) . Generated by the GIS after spatially locating the borings in the map. Elevation - Ground elevation as listed on the boring log. Station - Stationing on project alignment as listed on the boring log. Offset - Offset from project alignment as listed on the boring log. ProjectName - The project number that the boring was drilled under, as listed on the boring log. Accuracy - The process that was used to locate the boring (coordinates, plan sheet, stationing & offset). May also have a qualifier (Certain, Uncertain) to how confident we are about the location. Comment - Any additional information about the boring that might be relevant to the user. BoringLog - Link to the boring log pdf. Date - Date the boring was drilled. StateRouteNumber - The number assigned to the State Route and enacted into law by the Washington State Legislature. RelatedRouteType - A code that represents a classification of a route associated with a mainline state route, examples include: Couplet, Spur, Alternate Route, etc. RelatedRouteQualifier - A reference used to uniquely identify the physical location of the State Route Related Route Type. The state Route Related Route Qualifier can be based on a State Route Milepost, street name, city, or other distinguishing geographic regerence.
