I-82/SR 397 Interchange EB –  Bridge Repair

Project Description: This project provides for the improvement Bridge 82/268 on I-82 from MP 114.39 to 114.41 in Benton County. This work shall include but is not limited to providing temporary traffic control and temporary detour as needed, installing concrete barrier, and an impact attenuator, installing delineation, removing one damaged girder, a portion of the concrete bridge deck and the concrete traffic barrier over that girder and other work.
This project is due to be completed by Fall 2020

I-82 eastbound milepost 114, SR 397 vicinity,  Monday through Friday there will be a lane closure with reduced speed in place 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. 

 

SR 224 MP 5 (east of Keene Rd.) - City of West Richland – Paradise Way intersection and Utility extension

Project Description: This is a developer project within the City of West Richland. Work includes widening the highway and constructing a new at-grade intersection along SR 224 with right- and left-turn channelization, illumination, sidewalk, and new utility installations.

SR 240/Duportail Rd Intersection Improvements

Project Description: This is the Duportail Bridge Phase 2 project that provides for reconstructing and widening of SR 240/ Duportail Street intersection at MP 33.86 to support the increased traffic associated with the Local Agency's Duportail/ Stevens Corridor improvement. Phase 2 work reconstructs the SR 240 / Duportail Street intersection from the south side of Riverstone Drive to the north side of Cottonwood and approximately 400 feet in both the east and west directions along SR 240. The project includes widening and improving the at-grade railroad crossing of the Port of Benton Railroad Track. It also includes adding acceleration and deceleration lanes along SR 240. Work taking place within the WSDOT right of way includes lowering the profile of SR 240 to match the Duportail Street Alignment. Major work items would include roadway grading, placing crushed surfacing, asphalt paving, cement concrete curb and gutter, cement concrete sidewalks, traffic signal system, illumination system, utility relocations, and storm drainage.
This project is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2020

Current Week Traffic Advisory:
Access to Duportail Rd to and from SR 240 is closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week for roadway construction improvements. Detours are in place. Expect SR 240 in both directions at Duportail Rd intersection to have a single lane closure and speed reduction.

US 395 Safety Corridor Improvements & E Elm Rd to SR 17 SB  Paving

Project Description: This projects provides for the improvement of US 395 in Franklin County from MP 24.64 to MP 46.10 by rehabilitating the existing roadway, including crack sealing, planing, paving, illumination, ITS, furnishing and installing one cantilever sign structure, permanent signing, constructing acceleration and deceleration lanes, recessed pavement markers, rumble strips, roadway delineation, traffic control.
This project is due to be completed by late Sept. 2020.

I-90 MP 33 to 52 468th Ave SE to W Summit RD - Westbound Rehab Concrete

Project description: This project is two seasons and will rehabilitate concrete panels and shoulders along this section of I-90. This project is to be completed sometime in late fall of 2020.

Bicycle detour is in affect for this project.  For westbound bicyclists the detour starts at Exit 54 (SR 906/Hyak Interchange) and ends at the 468th Ave. SE interchange just east of North Bend. Detour maps can be found on a post just after turning left at the end of the westbound Exit 54 ramp.

Current Week Traffic Advisory:
I-90 milepost 33 to milepost 52 westbound:

Drivers westbound can expect night time intermittent one or two lane closures from milepost 33 near North Bend to milepost 52 near Snoqualmie Pass summit, between the hours of 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday Sept. 26 through Saturday Oct. 3.  Drivers should plan for added travel time through this area.

I-90 Easton Hill To West Easton I/C WB – Replace Bridge and Build Detour

Project Description: This Contract provides for the improvement of I-90 from MP 64.48 to MP 70.36, in Kittitas County, by widening the westbound pavement for use as a future eastbound detour, building one prestressed girder bridge and one prestressed voided slab concrete girder bridge, rock slope blasting, pavement repair, traffic control.

Rock Blasting Closure Schedule:
During rock blasting closures, I-90 will be closed eastbound ten miles east of the summit at milepost 63 near Cabin Creek and westbound will be closed at milepost 70 near Easton. Due to the nature of this work, closures could last longer than an hour.

Wednesday Sept. 30,   6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Current Week Traffic Advisory:
 Monday Sept. 28 and Friday Oct. 2 there will be a westbound right shoulder closure. Monday Sept. 28 to Fri. Oct. 3, Sparks Rd., going underneath I-90 will be reduced to a one lane configuration from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

I-90 Bullfrog Rd Vic-Concrete Rehab, Bridge Deck Rehab and Painting

Project Description: This project provides for the improvement of I-90 by cleaning and painting the metal surfaces of the Cle Elum River Bridges, eastbound and westbound, heat straightening, steel repair, pier concrete spall repair, modifying expansion joints, scarifying concrete surfaces, further deck preparation, furnishing, placing, curing and texturing concrete overlay, also including non-bridge work by constructing and removing temporary roadway, constructing and removing temporary bridge replacing PCCP lanes and panels, cement concrete pavement grinding, weigh-in-motion replacement, guardrail installation, paving HMA shoulders, and roadway delineation. This project is due to be completed by Summer, 2021.

Current Week Traffic Advisory:
Through Sept 2020, westbound traffic will be shifted onto a temporary bridge in the median to accommodate work on the westbound bridge over the Cle Elum River.

City of Yakima - Utility Work
Highway: I-82 Region: South Central County: Yakima Location: I-82 - milepost 33 vicinity

Project Description: The City of Yakima will be performing utility work on a sewer line along Fair Avenue from Spruce Street to the I-82 eastbound off ramp (Exist 33A) around milepost 33 vicinity and the I-82- E Yakima Ave - Exit 33 Interchange. The work zone will be limited to a single lane at times. 

Current Week Traffic Advisory:
I-82 eastbound milepost 33,  Fair Avenue near Spruce Street and the I-82 on ramp, Monday through Friday from 3 a.m. to 7 p.m. over the next few weeks, the work zone on Fair Ave. will be limited to a single lane at times and drivers may experience minor delays. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible. The intersection of the I-82 Exit 33A off ramp and Fair Avenue will be flagger controlled between the hours of 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, drivers may experience minor delays. Motorcycles should use extreme caution through the work zone. I-82 main line is not affected.

US 12 – AT&T - Utility Work

Project Description: AT&T’s contractor will be performing utility work along the north side of US 12, between milepost 191 and 194 between Low Road and Allan Road.

Current Week Traffic Advisory:
US 12 westbound approximately eight miles west of Yakima, from Locust Lane to Allan Road, between milepost 191 and milepost 192, Monday through Friday between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., drivers may experience minor delays as utility crews will have a single lane closure through the work zone. Intermittent shoulder closures will also take place between milepost 191 and 194.

US 12 in both directions from milepost 175 ( Windy Point vic.) milepost milepost 185 ( junction of US 12 and SR 410):  Monday Sept 28 to Thursday Oct 1, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. travelers should expect single lane pilot car controlled traffic control with 10 minute delays and added travel time for pavement sealing and preservation work. This work is contingent on weather.

SR 410 – Ziply Fiber (Frontier Communications) - Utility Work
