US 395 North Spokane Corridor - Spokane River to Columbia - Shared Use Path

Project news

The project will go to advertisement in July 2020. This project will be a Design-Build construction project with construction beginning in spring 2021.

Needs & benefits

This project continues to expand on the current Children of the Sun Trail located along the North Spokane Corridor between Columbia and Carlisle Avenue. Currently, the Children of the Sun Trail is open and operational from the Wandermere Center Trail Connection, down through Francis Avenue. There will also be three grade-seperated crossing constructed, one at Wellesley, Garland and Euclid Avenues.

Community outreach has played a prominent role in not only helping decide the course of the path, but also the kind of amenities and features that the adjacent neighborhoods want to see within its footprint. Example amenities include information kiosks and pedestrian plazas.

Project will go on ad in July 2020 with construction beginning in spring 2021.
