US 395 North Spokane Corridor - Spokane River to Columbia - Shared Use Path

Project news

The contractor is in the final stages of design and is seeking input from the community. Please take this short survey to select some of the design elements that will be incorporated into the connection points. The survey is open until July 14.

Needs & benefits

This project continues to expand on the current Children of the Sun Trail located along the North Spokane Corridor between Columbia and Carlisle Avenue. Currently, the Children of the Sun Trail is open and operational from the Wandermere Center Trail Connection, down through Francis Avenue. There will also be three grade-seperated crossing constructed, one at Wellesley, Garland and Euclid Avenues.

Community outreach has played a prominent role in not only helping decide the course of the path, but also the kind of amenities and features that the adjacent neighborhoods want to see within its footprint. Example amenities include information kiosks and pedestrian plazas.

Timeline

Project was awarded to Graham Contracting as the design-build contractor. Construction is expected to begin in 2021 and lasting through 2022.
