US 395 - NSC Spokane River to Columbia - New Segment

Project news

The project was awarded to Kuney Construction. Work will begin at Euclid Avenue with single-lane restrictions on Euclid beginning April 22. The lane restrictions will be in place for up to eight weeks as crews plan to begin excavation for the North Spokane Corridor overpass structure.

Needs & benefits

This project will complete the Wellesley Ave. interchange, including the mainline NSC bridge over Wellesley and two ramp bridges over BNSF spur line tracks.  The project will also complete the roadway excavation and embankment required to complete the mainline NSC down to the north side of Carlisle Ave., which includes a mainline bridge over Euclid Ave., retaining walls, HMA and concrete paving, drainage, and ITS and illumination appurtenances for future use.

Timeline

Construction will begin the week of April 19, 2021, at Euclid Avenue. The rest of the project is on suspension until June. The project is expected to have the Wellesley Interchange completed and open to traffic by the end of 2022, with full project completion by Spring of 2023.
