US 395 - Ridgeline Drive - Construct Interchange

Project news

  • If you have any questions or feedback you would like to share with us, you can reach us using the contact information at the bottom of this page.
  • The northbound shoulder of US 395 will be closed, and an emergency response access between US 395 and Bofer Canyon Road will be constructed. Extensive excavation east of US 395 to relocate Bofer Canyon Road began on April 5.  Benton PUD and the City of Kennewick will relocate a water line between Bofer Canyon Road and the Christenson/Southridge intersection.
  • Contractor crews will divert US 395 traffic to the east in a bypass route (1 northbound lane and 2 southbound lanes), with traffic moved onto the constructed diversion route starting this fall.

Needs & benefits

Due to recent development, the US 395 and Ridgeline Drive intersection is experiencing increased congestion. This is a four-lane limited access highway connecting I-82 with I-182 through Pasco and Kennewick. This project will reduce congestion and collisions, and improve access with the construction of a new grade separated interchange.

During construction of the US 395 bridge over Ridgeline Drive, a detour route will be in place for US 395 traffic. There will be one northbound lane and two southbound lanes with a median barrier along the detour. The detour route will be east of US 395.

This project is in collaboration with the City of Kennewick. The City of Kennewick will be designing the project and WSDOT is currently managing the construction of the interchange.
