In summer 2019 and 2020, contractor crews will repair the pavement along State Route 500 between St. Johns Road and Fourth Plain Boulevard in Vancouver. Crews will also replace the bridge expansion joints on the SR 500 overpass, over I-205 and adjust the SR 500 ramps at Northeast Falk Road and Northeast 54th Avenue/Northeast Stapleton Road to SR 500.
This weather-sensitive highway work will require a full weekend closure of all eastbound lanes of SR 500 between I-5 and Northeast Thurston Way, and a full weekend closure of all westbound lanes of SR 500 between I-5 and Northeast Thurston Way. Additionally, crews will intermittently close lanes between Northeast Thurston Way and Northeast Fourth Plain Blvd.
Travelers should plan to use alternate routes during the full weekend closures and expect delays of up to 20 minutes during the single and double lane closures.
The estimated cost of construction is approximately $6 million.
