Needs & benefits
In late 2020, crews will work to repair damaged sections of rockfall fence along SR 4 between mileposts 46.98 to 47.65 near Oak Point in Cowlitz County. Crews will also remove rocks and trees that have built up behind the rockfall fence. For safety while crews work on the hillside, to prevent rocks and trees from falling onto travelers below, intermittent closures of the highway of up to 20-minutes will be needed.
This project will help reduce the possibility of emergency closures and traffic delays due to rockslides.
