Needs & benefits

The SR 4 - Kandoll Rd. Vic. and SR 401 - Chip Seal projects will resurface sections of SR 4 and SR 401 near SR 4 from US 101 to Kandoll Rd. vicinity and on SR 401 from US 101 (Astoria-Megler Bridge) to SR 4 (Naselle). Crews will apply new lane striping and paint new lane markings throughout both stretches of the roadway between Pacific and Wahkiakum counties. The work along SR 401 will also include installation of rumble strips in the center of the highway and along the shoulders.

This work will extend the useful life of the roadway and help prevent costly repairs due to pavement failure. New lane markings and rumble strips on SR 401 will also help to increase safety along the corridor.

Construction details

Crews will intermittently close one lane of the highways for construction. During that time, travelers should plan for daytime delays of up to 20 minutes.
