Replacing the culvert for Pussyfoot Creek under SR 164 will require a 90-day closure of the highway just east of the White River Amphitheater between Auburn and Enumclaw, requiring separate detours for passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles. 

During the closure, passenger vehicle traffic will be directed to use Southeast 400th Street and 212th Avenue Southeast as a detour.

The truck detour utilizes SR 169 and Southeast 400th Street. These roaders are wider and designed to accomodate large commercial vehicles. The passenger vehicle detour uses a more narrow road with no shoulder, better suited to smaller vehicles.
