The project will be completed in Spring 2021 to repair bridge expansion joints. The eastbound I-90 on-ramp from Freya St. has reopened after being closed during the project.
The contractor is Shamrock Paving, Inc.
This project will extend between Havanna and Argonne on I-90. The project will rehabilitate the roadway by pouring new HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) over the existing concrete pavement for a smoother ride. Work is anticipated to begin in the late spring of 2020. Work will take place at night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. with possible daytime closures of the shoulder. Temporary ramp closures along the project are possible during nighttime hours. The Freya eastbound onramp to I-90 will be a full closure during construction. Motorists will need to detour, during the Freya ramp closure, to the Custer onramp to access I-90 eastbound.
Construction began on June 21 and finished in Sept. 2020. However, due to bridge expansion joint failures, repairs will be made in Spring 2021.
