Project news

The project began on June 21. Throughout the duration of the project, the Freya St. eastbound I-90 on-ramp will remain closed. Drivers are asked to continue down 3rd Avenue past Havana St. and use the on-ramp at Custer Rd. at access eastbound I-90 during the ramp closure.

The contractor is Shamrock Paving, Inc.

Needs & benefits

This project will extend between Havanna and Argonne on I-90. The project will rehabilitate the roadway by pouring new HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) over the existing concrete pavement for a smoother ride. Work is anticipated to begin in the late spring of 2020. Work will take place at night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. with possible daytime closures of the shoulder. Temporary ramp closures along the project are possible during nighttime hours. The Freya eastbound onramp to I-90 will be a full closure during construction. Motorists will need to detour, during the Freya ramp closure, to the Custer onramp to access I-90 eastbound.

Construction began on June 21 and will last through late September 2020.
