Eastern Region - Regionwide Basic Safety - Guardrail

Project news

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will be working with contractors around the region to update and repair guardrail and other roadside safety items.

Needs & benefits

The project updates and repairs existing safety features currently in place along several routes in Eastern Washington. Guardrail will be raised and upgraded, redirectional landforms around bridge piers will be removed and replaced with a barrier. Guardrail end treatments will be upgraded to new crashworthy terminals. Guardrail work will occur on eight different state routes, highways, and interstates throughout the Eastern Region over the next three years.

Timeline

The work is scheduled to start in 2019 and continue in various locations around Eastern Region through 2021.
