2022 Eastern Region Chip Seal - South

Project news

This project is currently in the early stages of design. The 2022 chip seal project has been broken into two projects, north, and south. All information provided below is contingent upon final budget approval.

Needs & benefits

Chip sealing preserves the integrity and life of deteriorating roadway by applying a Bituminous Surface Treatment (BST) seal coat of oil and gravel (chips) to the existing pavement. Restoration is necessary before the underlying road structure is damaged, requiring a much more expensive rebuild.

Currently, there are six sections of roadway that will be chip sealed in 2022. This is subject to change based on final budget approval.

  • SR 26 – LaCrosse Airport Rd to Dusty
  • SR 27 – Garfield to Rockford
  • SR 27 – Freeman to 32nd Ave.
  • SR 127 – Big Alkali Rd. to Dusty
  • US 195 – Colton to SR 27
  • SR 261 – Snake River to SR 260
