Contractors and consultants invited to Vancouver event, Jan. 23

VANCOUVER – Construction crews and consultants are finding no shortage of work on the west coast, and that includes publically funded projects to preserve and improve the transportation system. With each project advertised for competitive bidding, there is an opportunity for local firms to help keep people moving safely.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and the City of Vancouver are teaming up to host the Southwest Washington Contracting Workshop in Vancouver, Tuesday, Jan. 23, to highlight upcoming projects ahead of the busy spring bidding season. Additionally, the workshop is an opportunity to build connections between contractors in the area.

“A healthy contracting market with available workforce capacity helps ensure taxpayers get a good value for the dollars spent on our projects,” said WSDOT Project Development Manager Chad Hancock. “We’re hopeful that emerging firms in the area will use this event as an opportunity to forge new partnerships to help grow their business.”
