In this pre-design, WSDOT seeks community feedback on Complete Streets improvements on US 101. We will engage tribal nations, the community, and local governments to identify the improvements. An online open house was held from April 22 to May 6, 2026. An in-person open house was held Wednesday, April 29 in Amanda Park. The pre-design is expected to conclude in June 2026
Purpose
This project will repave US 101 in two sections in Grays Harbor County. One paving segment is in Humptulips. The second spans Neilton and Amanda Park. The project will also add pedestrian and bicycle facilities and sign updates.
US 101 is the only state highway in this area. It is home to the Quinault Indian Nation and several smaller communities. US 101 connects these communities with Forks to the north and Aberdeen to the south.
WSDOT will coordinate with the communities, services, and businesses that depend on the road.
This paving project will improve pavement conditions on US 101. It also includes Complete Streets because it is within several population centers. Complete Streets are roads designed for all users. Under Complete Streets, WSDOT will look at bicycle and pedestrian improvements in this area.
