SR 512 Corridor Pre-Design Study

WSDOT is conducting a pre-design study of State Route 512 between Lakewood and Puyallup in Pierce County. As part of the study, an online open house will take place in late 2022 to early 2023. The study will develop near-, mid- and long-term alternatives to improve operations, safety and mobility for all users.

Purpose

SR 512 is an important east-west link through Pierce County that connects the cities of Lakewood and Puyallup. This highway provides a vital connection between Interstate 5 and SR 167 for residents, businesses and visitors. The pre-design study will identify potential roadway improvements and focus on safety, access and improving travel times using the Practical Solutions approach. Recommendations published in the study report will be used to pursue future funding for highway design and construction improvements.
