What to expect

Work on this project will begin in either the NB or SB lanes of the highway and be performed one lane at a time, leaving the other lane open to alternating one-way traffic. Construction warning signs and portable temporary rumble strips will be placed upstream of traffic approaching the work zone in both directions before the queue starts to warn the traveling public of the upcoming alteration to normal and expected traffic operations.

While the lane is closed, the identified damaged panels will be removed and replaced with new panels made of rapid curing concrete. During the time when one lane is closed, traffic will be temporarily halted and be led through the construction area with the use of flaggers and a pilot car. Once the traffic has exited the construction area, the other direction of traffic will be led through the construction area in a similar fashion. This alternating traffic movement will continue 24 hours a day, through the duration of the construction. Drivers should expect delays of approximately 20 minutes.

This project will also include the repaving of the Horn School Rest Area. Access to the Rest Area will be closed for a week due to the pavement rehabilitation. There will not be any other significant restrictions to any road, commercial and residential approaches or business during the duration of the project. Additionally, pavement repairs to the Cashup Flats Weigh Station will be made. Due to weather, the project has been suspended until spring 2023. Minor items remain including rumble strips and permanent striping.

Project location limits for the US 195 concrete rehabilitation that will take place between the Old BNRR Bridge to the Junction with SR 271. This project also includes rehabilitation of the Cashup Flatts Weigh Station on US 195.
