US 12 - Wishkah River Bridge - Mechanical Rehabilitation

Project overview

This project addresses worn mechanical components of the bridge that need replacement. To do this important work, the bridge span will need to remain in the “down” position. This will prevent larger marine vessels from traveling up or down the river.

What to expect

During construction, travelers will see the bridge closed to vehicle traffic several times. Each closure will last four consecutive days. To keep goods and people moving, travelers will follow a signed detour using either the US 101 Heron Street bridge or State Route 107 and US 101.

In addition to several four-day closures to vehicle traffic, travelers will see nighttime single-lane closures during construction. Closures will be announced in advance. WSDOT will work to limit closures and noise as much as possible.

The US 12 Wishkah River Bridge is one of three bascule bridges in Grays Harbor County.
