SR 14 – W. Camas Slough Bridge Deck – Paving

Project overview

The State Route 14 West Camas Slough Bridge in east Clark County needs repairs to its driving surface. Years of heavy traffic and severe weather have worn down the pavement, creating potholes and ruts that make for a rough ride. These conditions have led to short-term closures for maintenance and repairs that impact travel.

In summer 2026, crews will repair and repave the bridge. The work includes removing old asphalt and a waterproofing layer and inspecting the concrete deck for damage. Crews will repair any issues they find, install a new waterproofing layer, pave new asphalt and replace four expansion joints.

Once the work is complete, travelers can expect a smoother ride, fewer unexpected closures and a more reliable bridge for years to come.

What to expect

During construction, travelers should expect single-lane closures on the bridge each night, Monday through Friday.

The project also includes up to two weekend closures, one in each direction. During the closures, travelers will be directed to exit SR 14 at Exit 12 (eastbound) or Exit 14 (westbound) and follow a signed detour through Camas. Freight traffic should avoid the area if possible.

In summer 2026, crews will repair and repave the SR 14 West Camas Slough Bridge, in east Clark County. During construction, up to two overnight weekend closures will be needed. Travelers will follow a signed detour.

The West Camas Slough Bridge was built in 1964 and widened and paved in 2013. Today it carries about 30,000 vehicles a day, including commuters, commercial trucks and travelers heading to the Gorge. Since the last paving project, the asphalt has worn down, and potholes and deep ruts continue to form.
