Approved for Tier 1 and Tier 3 Recycled Concrete Aggregates (RCA). Acceptance is based on Toxicity Test Report & Certification of Toxicity Characteristics per 9-03.21(1) & Field Testing for Grading, Sand Equivalency, and/or Dust Ratio per 4-04 & 9-03. See QPL for further info.
Tier 1 and Tier 3:
The PEO shall visually inspect the recycled material delivered to the job site to ensure it contains no more than 1% of adherent fines, organic matter, plastics, plaster, paper, gypsum board, metals, fabrics, wood, tile, glass, asphaltic materials, brick, porcelain, or other deleterious substances not specified in Standard Specification 9-03.21(1)C. If the inspection indicates the material may exceed these limits, the PEO shall collect a sample per WSDOT Errata for AASHTO R 90 for testing to confirm the percentage.
