Thinking globally, acting locally: South Korean delegation visits us
While we may be an ocean apart, Washington state and South Korea have a lot more in common than you may think. We both have many miles of bike lanes, pedestrian trails, tunneled highways, toll roads, and yes, even roundabouts.

TIGER MOUNTAIN – The Interstate 90/State Route 18 Interchange Improvements project is approaching a major milestone, as work begins Wednesday, Jan. 31, on the last of three bridges needed to widen a 2-mile section of SR 18 just south of I-90.

OLYMPIA - The states of Washington, Oregon and California receive $12 million federal grant to provide truck drivers with real-time truck parking availability information.
Weekend-long closures coming to southbound SR 529, starting Jan. 19
Last year during a routine inspection of the 97-year-old southbound State Route 529 Steamboat Slough Bridge just south of Marysville, our crews found about a dozen worn gusset plates, which connect steel beams. We'll replace these worn plates in a few weekend-long closures.

SR 520 Trail across Lake Washington closing for 15 days beginning Friday night, Jan. 19
SEATTLE – Bicyclists and pedestrians traveling across Lake Washington should plan for an extended State Route 520 Trail closure.
