Overview
We repaved about 2.3 miles of SR 516 between 102nd Place Southeast and 132nd Avenue Southeast to preserve this section of highway. Crews finished grinding, repaving and striping to renew the highway. We also replaced four sidewalk ramps at intersections, making it easier and safer for pedestrians to cross streets.
Improves safety
This project improves safety by removing ruts and cracks in the road and reducing the opportunity for standing water on the roadway, which reduces traction for vehicles. The new sidewalk ramps make it easier for pedestrians to cross the highway.
Economic incentive
This project helps preserve the highway because it protects the layers that support the driver surface. The new pavement also reduces annual maintenance costs and reduces the possibility of emergency repairs.
