Overview
During summer 2017, WSDOT used lightweight concrete, realignment of the highway, and drainage to help stabilize the highway at this location.
Improves safety
A 170-foot section of SR 302 adjacent to Puget Sound had regularly settled. The settlement created a chronic maintenance problem, unscheduled lane closures, and public concern. The sloughing required repaving several times a year.
Relieves congestion
Two-way traffic has been restored to this area of SR 302 in Mason County.
