I-5 - SR 510 Interchange - Reconstruct Interchange - DDI information

WSDOT is upgrading the existing Interstate 5 and State Route 510 interchange to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) - the first of its kind in Washington state.

A DDI's innovative design is proven to improve safety by reducing conflict points, decrease wait times at signals, increase traffic flow and move more people in higher populated areas.

This particular DDI is being designed to work well with nearby intersections in the very busy Hawks Prairie business district. You're invited to watch a short 4 minute YouTube video to learn more about the DDI that will be built at the Interstate 5 and SR 510 interchange.

The DDI will accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians with a barrier-protected multi-use lane that will be located in the middle of the overpass.
