Our professional staff is responsible for planning, building, and operating an innovative multi-modal transportation agency in one of the fastest growing areas of the country. Imagine being part of an organization recognized for bringing its projects in on time and on budget.

Information Technology

WSDOT has a three-part strategy to reduce traffic congestion in Washington. This strategy emphasizes building or altering lanes and roads, improving the function of existing roads, and supporting alternatives to driving or driving alone.

Whether it’s in the office, laboratory, or field, our paraprofessional and technical employees perform skilled tasks in support of our strategic plan of adding capacity, operating efficiently, and managing demand.

Career choices include bridge and structures, CADD, construction inspection, office engineering, materials testing, survey, and traffic safety systems.



WSDOT is responsible for maintaining more than 7,000 miles of highways, over 11,000 vehicles, and nearly 3,500 bridges and structures, including the world's widest and second longest floating bridges. Our State Ferries has 24 vessels and carries more than 24 million passengers annually.

It takes talented and dedicated individuals to safely operate, maintain, and repair our transportation system and keep it free of hazards and open to the traveling public year-around.
