I-405 - Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes - Tukwila to I-90 - Environmental Assessment

WSDOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) signed the Environmental Assessment (pdf 13.45 mb) for the I-405, Tukwila to I-90 Vicinity Express Toll Lanes Project on July 3, 2018. A 30-day comment period is open from July 9 to Aug. 9, 2018. 

The State Environmental Protection Act (SEPA) Determination of Non-Significance for the I-405, Tukwila to I-90 Vicinity Express Toll Lanes Project was also published on July 9, 2018.

How do I comment?

A 30-day comment period is open from July 9, 2018 until Aug. 9, 2018.

Through Aug. 9, community members may submit comments by email to i405comments@wsdot.wa.gov or by traditional mail to I-405 Environmental Manager Allison Hanson, 600 108th Ave. NE, Suite 405, Bellevue, WA 98004. Mailed comments must be postmarked by Aug. 9, 2018.

Printed copies are available for review during normal business hours at the I-405 Program office, 600 108th Ave. NE, Suite 405, Bellevue, WA 98004; and at the following libraries:

  • Bellevue College Library
  • Bellevue Regional Library
  • Newcastle Library
  • Renton Library
  • Renton Technical College Library
  • Tukwila Regional Library

Community members may purchase printed copies of the Environmental Assessment for $73.83 by emailing EllisL@wsdot.wa.gov or calling 425-456-8582.

WSDOT also invites community members to attend a public hearing July 17 to learn more about the project and the environmental assessment findings. A court reporter will be available during the hearing to accept verbal comments.

When: Tuesday, July 17, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Renton High School cafeteria, 400 S. Second St., Renton

Written and oral comments will be given equal weight and all comments received or postmarked by Aug. 9, 2018 will be considered by WSDOT in preparing the Final EA.
