We appreciate all the input that we received in Phase 1 and 2, as well as all the comments received during the 45 day public comment period July 19 - Sept. 1. The Washington Transportation Plan Update will go to the Washington State Transportation Commission for adoption in November of 2006.

The Transportation Plan Update is divided in two phases. Phase 1: Data Compilation, Analysis & Strategy Development and Phase 2: Developing the Policy Plan
Phase 1 of the plan was completed in the winter of 2004. At the end of workshops and meeting for Phase One the Washington State Transportation Commission held a Milestone Event - "Share What We've Learned."
Phase 2 started in the fall of 2004 and the Transportation Commission will adopt the plan in the summer of 2006. The plan includes the priority investment proposals, with state projects and state program recommendations, plus statewide policy recommendations needed to implement the plan.
The updated plan will become the basis for the 2007-2009 Transportation Budget Proposal that the Transportation Commission will submit it to the 2007 Legislature.
