Rail - Palouse River and Coulee City RR - Acquisition and Rehabilitation - Project Photo

Photo of Grain Train at St. John

This photo shows a train with cars from the WSDOT Grain Train program, on the Palouse River and Coulee City Railroad (PCC) near St. John. The PCC rail system provides local rail service to grain shippers and other businesses in eastern Washington. Currently the railroad suffers from decades of deferred maintenance. WSDOT purchased the rights of way and rail in the P & L Branch and PV Hooper Branch of the PCC in November 2004. Purchase of the CW Branch and the remaining rights in the other two branches were completed in May 2007.
