The contractor used curing blankets and plastic to wet cure the new bridge deck.

The yellow machine in the picture is known as a Bidwell finishing machine. The machine smoothed and levels out the wet concrete when the contractor is pouring the bridge deck.

The formwork provided a bottom form for the cast-in-place concrete deck and traffic barrier, but also provided an outside walkway for construction workers during concrete pours. The formwork and braces were removed once the concrete was cured.
