Express Lanes Schedule Changes

Description: WSDOT uses the I-5 express lanes to assist the flow of traffic during busy travel times. These lanes are scheduled to move in the direction that will relieve the most congestion from the transportation system.

SB S 320th St to Duwamish River Br Concrete Pavement Rehab - #8816

Description: WSDOT contractor crews are rehabilitating southbound I-5 between the Duwamish River Bridge in Tukwila and South 320th Street in Federal Way.

Description: WSDOT contractor crews are improving the intersection where the southbound I-5 off- and on-ramps meet South 200th Street and Military Road South in SeaTac.
Work schedule:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 21, to Friday, Feb. 24 – Officers will direct traffic at the intersection of the southbound I-5 off- and on-ramps at South 200th Street/Military Road South from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.
Seattle Sign Maintenance Work

Description: WSDOT maintenance crews are making repairs and performing preventative sign maintenance work on northbound I-5 in Seattle.
Work schedule:

  • **HIGH IMPACT** Saturday, Feb. 25, to the morning of Sunday, Feb. 26 – The four left lanes of northbound I-5 between Interurban Avenue South and I-90 will be closed beginning with the left lane at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 25, to the morning of Sunday, Feb. 26 – The northbound I-5 off-ramp to Corson Avenue South will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Sound Transit Northgate Link Extension Work

Description: Sound Transit contractor crews are removing instrumentation from the dewatering wells along the northbound I-5 on-ramp as part of the Link Light Rail Project.

Description: Sound Transit maintenance crews are installing a guardrail on southbound I-5 in Seattle.
Work Description:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 21, to Thursday, Feb. 23 – The Corliss Avenue North/North 107th Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 21, to Thursday, Feb. 23 – The Northeast Northgate Way on-ramp to southbound I-5 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
116th Street NE Interchange Improvements - Tulalip Tribes Project

Description: Tulalip Tribes contractor crews are replacing the I-5/116th Street Northeast interchange near Marysville to reduce congestion and provide more capacity.

SR 531 Vic to Stillaguamish River Paving and ADA Compliance - #8825

Description: WSDOT contractor crews are repaving both directions of I-5 near Arlington, along with the off- and on-ramps at SR 530 and the Smokey Point Rest Area on-ramp to southbound I-5.

Fisher Creek - Fish Passage - #8840

Description: WSDOT contractor crews are removing a culvert, building twin 110-foot-long bridges and rebuilding the creek bed to a more natural state to allow for better fish passage.

  • Until further notice - Northbound I-5 will be reduced to two lanes and detoured to a median bypass lane between Starbird Road and SR 534 over Fisher Creek. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph.
Hill Ditch Bridge to Joe Leary Slough Paving - #8863

Description: WSDOT contractor crews are repaving sections in both directions of I-5 between Cameron Way in Mount Vernon and Chuckanut Drive/SR 11 in Burlington, along with seven on- and off-ramps.
