The Washington State Department of Transportation has kicked off the Airport Investment Study.
WSDOT, along with consultant CH2M Hill, will spearhead the study to evaluate the need for preservation and safety projects at the state’s 136 public-use airports. Specifically, the study will:
- Evaluate current funding levels for airport preservation and safety projects
- Assess short-term and long-term airport improvement needs
- Determine consequences of doing nothing in terms of economic and aviation system impacts
WSDOT will also seek input from a study advisory committee comprised of aviation stakeholders from across the state. The committee will provide input and subject matter expertise throughout the process.
More information about the study is available at: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/aviation/AirportInvestmentStudy.htm
