WENATCHEE– The SR 285-W. End of the Senator George Sellar Bridge Intersection Improvements project is requiring the outside southbound lane of Mission Street to be closed from the Wenatchee Community Center (old Catholic Church) on Chelan Ave. south to the La Fuente’ restaurant. (Chehalis to Lewis Streets)

The closure has been extended through Thursday. The closure hours have also expanded. The lane is closed from 9 each night until 3 p.m. the next afternoon. “This still leaves both lanes open for the peak afternoon eastbound commute,” said project engineer Bob Romine. Crews have found the horizontal drilling installation of electrical wire conduits under the sidewalk for electronic message signs, to be a slower process than expected.

Drivers may choose to use S. Wenatchee Ave. as an alternate route during high traffic periods.

In this $9.8 million project, Selland Construction crews are adding lanes, a new off ramp, widening the bridge over South Wenatchee Ave. as well as other improvements. Work began July 23, 2012 and should be complete by this fall - 2013.
