WENATCHEE– The SR 285-W. End of the Senator George Sellar Bridge Intersection Improvements project will require the outside southbound lane of Mission Street to be closed for about 1.3 miles between the Mission/Chelan St. merge at Auto Mocha to La Fuente’s.
Monday, 1/28 through Thursday, 1/31 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., drivers can expect the right lane of southbound Mission St. to be closed and southbound traffic to be merged into the left lane beginning from the Wenatchee Community Center (old Catholic Church) on Chelan Ave. south to the La Fuente’ restaurant.
Drivers may choose to use S. Wenatchee Ave. as an alternate route during high traffic periods.
Selland Construction crews will be installing electrical wire conduits under the sidewalk for the electronic message signs that will be erected through this zone later in the project.
This work is projected to take one week to complete, but that is dependent on weather and other factors, and may be extended.
In this $9.8 million project, Selland Construction crews are adding lanes, a new off ramp, widening the bridge over South Wenatchee Ave. as well as other improvements. Work began July 23, 2012 and should be complete by this fall - 2013.
