PUYALLUP – Airports and airport sponsors are invited to attend three workshops hosted by WSDOT Aviation Division at the annual Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show on Feb. 20 and 21 at the Western Washington Fairgrounds in Puyallup. Representatives from WSDOT Aviation will discuss airport investments, newly proposed state airport grant assurances and aviation land-use planning on Saturday, Feb. 20.

The WSDOT workshop schedule is as follows:

9:15 a.m.: “Airport investments: How are they determined?”
Learn how federal and state grants are determined and prioritized at Washington airports.
Room E of the north foyer / Hosted by WSDOT Aviation and FAA

10:30 a.m.: “State Airport grants aren’t free! Newly proposed state grant obligations”
Learn about proposed changes to grant assurances that will affect airports applying for state grants.

3:30 p.m.: “Protect your airport from land-use encroachment”
Learn new tools for protecting airports through land-use planning and review new state guidelines.
