LYNDEN – WSDOT crews building a new roundabout near Lynden will close access to State Route 539 from West Wiser Lake Road beginning Sept. 14. The closure is expected to last for four weeks.

The closure will begin at 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14. Crews will complete the roundabout and restore access to SR 539 (Guide Meridian) by 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9.

North- and southbound drivers on the Guide Meridian will not be affected by the closure, and will drive through the middle of the partially complete Wiser Lake roundabout. Crews will close access to the W. Wiser Lake Road at the Guide Meridian intersection. Drivers who need to access W. Wiser Lake road can follow posted detour routes on West Pole and Old Guide roads.

People can also follow roundabout construction by viewing our Wiser Lake traffic camera:

Crews need to close access to W. Wiser Lake Road in order to build the west half of the Wiser Lake roundabout. Once crews complete the west half, they will switch traffic to the west and complete the east half of the roundabout. The Wiser Lake roundabout is expected to open in mid-October.
