VANCOUVER – Multiple lane and shoulder closures on northbound I-5 and Mill Plain Blvd. this weekend will allow crews to perform routine inspections on seven sign structures along the interstate in Clark County. The on-ramp from NE 78th Street to northbound I-5 (mile post 4.6) will be also closed for a short time to perform one of the inspections. The schedule of closures is as follows:
Saturday, Aug. 29
6 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- On-ramp from NE 78th St. to northbound I-5
- Right lane on northbound I-5 between NE 78th St. and NE 99th St.
- I-5 northbound exit-only lane between NE 78th St. and NE 99th St.
- The exit at NE 99th St. (Exit 5) will remain open
7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- I-5 northbound exit-only lane and right shoulder between NE 78th St. and NE 99th St.
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- I-5 northbound left shoulder between NE 78th St. and NE 99th St.
1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- I-5 northbound exit-only lane between NE 99th Street and NE 134th Street
- The exit at NE 134th Street (Exit 7) will remain open
Sunday, Aug. 30
6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Right lane closed on eastbound Mill Plain Blvd. at the on-ramp to southbound I-5
- The on-ramp will remain open
7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- Right lane closed on westbound Mill Plain Blvd. at the on-ramp to northbound I-5
- The on-ramp will remain open
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- I-5 northbound exit-only lane for NE 179th St. (Exit 9)
- The exit at NE 179th St. will remain open
These routine inspections ensure serviceability of these signs and the safety of drivers on highways and streets below.
Motorists are asked to slow down and pay attention when traveling through the work zone. Motorists can help maintain traffic flow and posted speeds by merging into the appropriate lane prior to approaching the work zone.
