CASTLE ROCK – Concrete panel replacement and paving work will close the on- and off-ramps at three locations on northbound I-5 next week near Castle Rock. WSDOT recommends drivers consider alternate routes during these closures, which will occur nightly between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Monday, Aug. 24 through Friday, Aug. 28
Crews will close the northbound on- and off-ramps at the I-5 Business Loop near Castle Rock (Exit 48).
Monday, Aug. 24 and Thursday, Aug. 27
Crews will close the northbound on- and off-ramps at Headquarters Road (Exit 46).
Tuesday, Aug. 25 and Thursday, Aug. 27 through Sunday, Aug. 30
Crews will close the northbound on- and off-ramps at the SR 504 junction (Exit 49).
Full closures of these ramps are necessary to ensure the safety of crews as they will be working in a confined space close to the affected ramps, and near high volumes of traffic on I-5.
Electronic message boards located along the interstate will provide northbound motorists with information when the closures are in effect. Drivers wishing to access or exit I-5 are advised to use Ostrander Road (Exit 42), located south of the closures, or Toutle Park Road (Exit 52), located north of the closures.
This work is part of the $15 million I-5, North Kelso to Castle Rock – Concrete Rehabilitation project that includes $9.5 million in Recovery Act funding. For more information, please visit the project Web site at: www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/pavementrehab/i5nkelsotocastlerock/.
