MOSSYROCK – Beginning at noon on Monday, Aug. 17, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close SR 122 between Flynn Road and Steelhead Drive (mile posts 4.55 to 5.92) for one week to install a culvert underneath the highway. Contractor crews will reopen SR 122 by noon Friday, Aug. 21.

Full closure of SR 122 will allow WSDOT’s contractor, Steele Trucking Inc., to remove the existing concrete culvert and install a new fish passage culvert. Local access will be available, and nearby US 12 is recommended as a detour for through traffic.

This work is part of the $300,000 SR 122, Harmony Resort Vic. Fish Passage project, which removes a fish passage barrier culvert and installs a new culvert to improve fish access to Silver Creek.

WSDOT’s Fish Passage Barrier Removal Program began in 1991 to identify and remove barriers to fish passage caused by culverts under state highways. This is a cooperative effort with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
