SEATTLE – The Washington State Department of Transportation is hosting public hearings this month in Seattle and Bellevue to discuss potential environmental effects of tolling on the State Route 520 Evergreen Point Bridge.

You are invited to attend one of the following hearings:

  • 5:30 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 28 at the Bellevue Regional Library, 1111 110th Ave. NE
  • 5– 7 p.m., Thursday, April 30 at the University Branch of the Seattle Public Library, 5009 Roosevelt Way NE

Representatives from WSDOT and the SR 520 project team will be available to provide information and answer questions. Hearing participants can hand in written comments or give verbal testimony to a court reporter concerning potential environmental effects of variable tolling the SR 520 bridge.

Can’t make one of the hearings? You can review the environmental assessment on-line at www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/LkWaMgt/ and send written comments to Paul Krueger at the WSDOT Urban Corridors Office, 401 2nd Ave S, Suite 300, Seattle, WA 98104 or by email to SR520VariableTolling@wsdot.wa.gov.

WSDOT plans to implement electronic tolling on the bridge if approved by the Washington State Legislature. Tolls, including prices that vary throughout the day, will help decrease traffic at the busiest travel times to improve traffic flow. Tolls will also be used to help fund the SR 520 bridge replacement.
