VANCOUVER – The Gee Creek rest areas on I-5 in Clark County will close for four days this month, beginning on Wednesday, April 15, as crews perform annual maintenance. The rest areas are located on I-5 northbound and southbound near the SR 502 Interchange (Exit 11).

The southbound Gee Creek Rest Area will be closed from 5 a.m. April 15 until 8 p.m. April 16. The northbound Gee Creek Rest Area will be closed from 5 a.m. April 20 to 8 p.m. April 21.

The closures are necessary so WSDOT crews can conduct annual maintenance work such as painting, facility repairs and sanitation services. The blue signs along I-5 alerting motorists to the Gee Creek rest areas will have “Closed” signs put over them throughout the closures, and the on-ramps to the rest areas will be blocked with orange traffic control barrels.

For southbound motorists, the next rest area on I-5 after Gee Creek is the Baldock Rest Area, 14 miles south of Portland, Ore. For northbound motorists, the next rest area on I-5 after Gee Creek is the Toutle River Rest Area, five miles north of Castle Rock in Cowlitz County.
