Survey work closes I-5 lanes in Tacoma
TACOMA – Crews surveying two bridges in Tacoma close northbound and southbound Interstate 5 lanes overnight this week.
· At 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, crews reduce northbound I-5 to two lanes between the I-705 interchange and the Puyallup River in Tacoma. Both lanes are scheduled to reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Thursday.
· At 10 p.m. Thursday, April 2, crews reduce southbound I-5 to two lanes between the Port of Tacoma Road interchange in Fife and Portland Avenue in Tacoma. Both lanes are scheduled to reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Friday.
The survey data crews collect will be used by engineers designing high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes from Portland Avenue to Port of Tacoma Road and a new northbound I-5 Puyallup River Bridge. For more project information, go to:
