Seattle Marathon to close express lanes, freeway off-ramps this Sunday

SEATTLE – The Seattle Marathon will affect the express lanes and several freeway off-ramps in the Seattle area on Sunday, Nov. 30. Drivers should plan routes around the following freeway closures:

  • The I-5 express lanes will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • The I-90 express lanes will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • The northbound I-5 off-ramp to Lakeview Boulevard will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Officers will direct traffic at the end of the southbound I-5 off-ramp to Boylston Avenue and Roanoke Street from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Left turns will not be allowed onto Roanoke Street from the ramp.
  • Left turns will not be allowed onto Fairview Avenue from the I-5 Mercer Street off-ramp from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Drivers exiting I-5 at Mercer must turn right onto Fairview.
  • The westbound SR 520 off-ramp to East Roanoke Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This new traveler information system builds upon the highly successful Washington State Highway hotline that managed 4.6 million calls each year. Callers can also use 5-1-1 to get statewide construction, mountain pass condition, and state ferry system information, as well as toll free numbers for passenger rail and airlines.
