SKAMOKAWA – Motorists traveling eastbound on SR 4 between the Naselle River and Skamokawa (mile posts 6 to 22) will encounter delays for four weekdays, beginning on Friday, October 31.
Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, October 31 as well as Monday, November 3 through Wednesday, November 5, drivers will experience single lane closures and slowing traffic as Western Wahkiakum Telephone performs location work on their telephone lines. No work will be performed over the weekend.
This work is part of the SR 4/SR 401 Roadside Safety project, scheduled for construction in summer 2009. Through this project, WSDOT will make safety improvements to the SR 4 and SR 401 corridors in Pacific, Wahkiakum, and Cowlitz counties.
Crews will install additional guardrail at various key locations in the project area. WSDOT will also flatten several slopes along SR 4 and 401, improving the shoulders and reducing the severity of collisions where motorists have driven off the roadway.
For weekly updates on this and all other state traffic impacts in the region, please visit the WSDOT Southwest Region Weekly Travel Advisory Web page: www.wsdot.wa.gov/Regions/SouthWest/Construction/default.htm.
