BATTLE GROUND – Final sign work and rumble strip installation will cause day time single lane closures and night time double lane closures on I-5 near the new SR 502 Interchange next week, announces the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

Rumble strips will be installed to increase safety along this stretch of corridor. Although 18 percent of all crashes are single vehicle run-off-the-road crashes, they account for 30 percent of all the fatal crashes on Washington State highways. Shoulder rumble strips are used to alert drivers that they have left their intended lane of travel.

The following is a list of impacts and closures for Saturday, October 25 through Friday, October 31.

Saturday, October 25 through Friday, October 31
Motorists traveling northbound on I-5 will encounter a daytime left lane closure as crews install sign structures over the interstate in the vicinity of the new SR 502 Interchange.

5 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, October 27
Motorists traveling in both directions on I-5 will encounter right lane closures for the installation of rumble strips on the interstate.

12 noon to 6 p.m. on Monday, October 27
Motorists traveling northbound on I-5 will encounter a left lane closure for the installation of rumble strips on the interstate.

9 p.m. Wednesday, October 29 to 6 a.m. Thursday, October 30
Motorists traveling northbound on I-5 will encounter night time double lane closures as crews install sign structures over the interstate in the vicinity of the new SR 502 Interchange. The left and center lanes will be closed during this time. Work will begin no earlier than 9 p.m. Wednesday night and conclude by 6 a.m. Thursday morning.

9 p.m. Thursday, October 30 to 6 a.m. Friday, October 31
Motorists traveling northbound on I-5 will encounter night time double lane closures as crews install sign structures over the interstate in the vicinity of the new SR 502 Interchange.
