BATTLE GROUND – Starting Monday, October 20, motorists traveling on I-5 in the vicinity of Battle Ground will notice the speed limit return to 70 MPH, after a reduction to 60 MPH through the SR 502 Interchange work zone. This will make the speed limit 70 MPH between NE 179th Street Exit (milepost 9.5) and the McCarty Road overpass (milepost 13.3).

The lowered speed limit was put in effect on June 22, 2007 to help protect workers building the interchange and the traveling public near the work zone. The new SR 502 Interchange is now complete and opened to the public on October 15, 2008.
