PORT TOWNSEND – WSDOT is asking for the public’s input to help shape a plan that improves safety and reduces congestion on SR 19 and SR 20 in Jefferson County.

Citizens are encouraged to attend an open house and share their transportation concerns and ideas between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 at the Chimacum Creek Primary School gymnasium, 313 Ness Corner Road in Port Hadlock.

WSDOT is studying the routes in collaboration with Jefferson County Public Works, the City of Port Townsend and other users of SR 19 and the section of SR 20 that leads to the Port Townsend ferry terminal.

The study will result in a priority list of short-, mid-, and long-term projects that will compete for state transportation funds. WSDOT planning staff expects to have a final corridor plan completed by fall 2009.
