WSDOT staff and the City of Selah will be hosting an open house to share information regarding the project to re-route SR 823 through Selah and the East Fremont Street improvement. This is your opportunity to see the design and talk with the experts.

WSDOT staff and the City of Selah will be on hand to answer your questions regarding the WSDOT SR 823 - Selah Vicinity Re-route Highway project on Wednesday, July 23, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Selah Civic Center in Selah.

A formal presentation will not be made, so come at your convenience to view displays of the re-route design and discuss the benefits.

WSDOT and the City of Selah are teaming up to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians, and relieve traffic congestion in downtown Selah. WSDOT is scheduled to start construction on the SR 823 – Selah Vicinity Re-route Highway project in 2010. The $8.6 million project will improve the truck route for farm-to-market agriculture products, increase freight mobility and efficiency for Selah’s major food processing industries including Tree Top, Larson Fruit, Matson Fruit, and Yakama Nation Juice. The City of Selah is still in the design process for the East Fremont Street Improvement project, but plan to construct it in the Summer of 2009. The project will widen lanes, install sidewalks, and replace storm drains between North First Street and North Wenas Road (SR 823).
