WSDOT and YPD close I-82 off-ramps to SR 24/Nob Hill Blvd. during Independence Day fireworks display
YAKIMA – In a cooperative effort by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and the Yakima Police Department (YPD), both off-ramps of I-82 to SR 24/Nob Hill Blvd. will be closed on the Fourth of July between 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
In order to help control traffic flow out of the State Fair Park area, portions of 18th Street and Nob Hill Blvd. will be closed when the fireworks display concludes.
Ramp and street closure schedules:
9:30 p.m. to 11:p.m., July 4, 2008
• I-82 eastbound & westbound off-ramps to SR 24/Nob Hill Boulevard (exit 34) closed.
9:45 p.m. to 11 p.m., July 4, 2008
• 18th Street northbound from Nob Hill Blvd. closed.
• Nob Hill Blvd. westbound from 18th Street closed.
WSDOT and the YPD would like to remind all motorists that stopping and parking along SR 24, I-82 or any of the on or off-ramps is prohibited.

This new traveler information system builds upon the highly successful Washington State Highway hotline that managed 4.6 million calls each year. Callers can also use 5-1-1 to get statewide construction, mountain pass condition, and state ferry system information, as well as toll free numbers for passenger rail and airlines.
