VANCOUVER – Construction activities on I-205 near Mill Plain will shut down the on-ramp onto I-205 northbound from Mill Plain on the night of July 24, announces the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The ramp closure will begin at 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, and will continue until 5 a.m. on Friday, July 25.
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route, such as heading north on NE 112th to SR 500 west, and then onto I-205 northbound.
The closure is necessary so that crews can complete storm drainage work. Crews will dig a large opening where the current ramp is, insert a drainage pipe underneath the ramp and then repave over the opening.
For more information about the 1-205, Mill Plain – NE 112th Connector Project, please contact WSDOT’s Vancouver Area Engineering Office by phone (800-725-9669), by e-mail (swVancouver@wsdot.wa.gov) or visit the project page at: www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/i205/millplainne112/
Advance warning signs will be placed ahead of the construction area, and motorists are asked to observe and adhere to the posted speed limits when driving through the work zone. Motorists are also reminded that all traffic fines are doubled within a construction work zone when workers are present (RCW 46.61.527).
